Nicole DeAvilla, pioneering Yoga Therapist and Lifestyle Coach knows firsthand what it really takes to heal the body while maintaining a high performance lifestyle: athletically, academically, professionally and as a parent.
Having injured every major joint in her body, 5 major surgeries and a couple of mystery illnesses, she constructed a wholistic lifestyle approach to go beyond simple healing to thriving.
To help others overcome their own personal challenges, Nicole has taken her 25 years in research, 35 years as a yoga therapist blended with her intuitive and practical approach gleaned from many years on a spiritual path, and created a proven system to guide her clients to a full-on life of health, meaning and enjoyment.

Taking cues from psychology, physiology, brain science, business, productivity and yoga philosophy, Nicole developed the result-driven lifestyle hacks perfect for today’s 24/7 world empowering her clients to flourish with ease and energy.

Under her attentive care her clients feel supported as she helps them navigate their fast-paced modern lifestyle, expertly getting them back on the tennis court, throwing the ball with their kids, discovering their inner Zen or finding focus and rekindling their passions.
She takes on only a few select private clients who also enjoy her depth of ancient wisdom and modern technology to meet them where they are – at home, work or traveling.

Registered at the highest level through Yoga Alliance, as an E-RYT 500 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher), Nicole is an active member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists, the Ananda Yoga Teachers Association, and the International Yoga Therapy Conference. On the Yoga Alliance Prenatal Yoga Standards Committee she helped establish the educational criterion for training prenatal yoga teachers. Personally she loves working with women during the special time when they are pregnant. She created the Prenatal Yoga Academy Daily Dozen poster available through Lifestyle Yoga.
Nicole has taught yoga and wellness at Kaiser Permanente. She formerly taught and trained instructors for Being ADEPT’s (a drug and alcohol prevention program for tweens and teens) Yoga, Science and Stress Reduction curriculum.
Nicole was the former Executive Director of the PEG (Parent Education Group) of Marin, California 16th District Parent Education Chair and parent representative for the Stanford University’s Challenge Success program at Saint Ignatius College Prep. She speaks on a variety of parenting and stress reduction topics for parents and students.
Nicole has taken real life experiences as a yoga teacher, yoga therapist, yoga educator and yoga researcher with her involvement in the fields of science and education, on topics such as learning, success, health and well-being, to create innovative yoga teacher training programs, drug and alcohol prevention programs for middle school children, parent education programs, private client protocols, and mentoring programs. In this capacity, she has also taken on advisory and collaborative roles with K-12, higher education, government and other institutions.
Nicole’s research has been published in the American Journal of Sports Medicine and the International Journal of Yoga Therapy. She is a regular contributor to Clarity Magazine, Ananda Yoga Teachers Association, Yoga Therapy Today, and the online Yoga Teacher Support Center at the Expanding Light in addition to her other published articles and interviews.
